system management

In the eternal search for optimized systems management, organizations are adopting new technologies almost as fast as they are being introduced by the vendor community. This is contributing to spiraling complexity of enterprise systems.

“When we look at how organizations are attempting to reduce costs and build agility into operations, several initiatives are prevalent that must drive change in systems management thinking,” explains Pierre Coyne, Service Management Strategy and Planning Manager for MNJ’s Tivoli software division.

One of the first initiatives revolves around Service Oriented Architectures. “SOA allows for repurposing and sharing of resources across business services and processes. This explains why it is being adopted so quickly across industries to improve agility and reusability,” says Coyne.
